Yeah they used a different designs for both units. It does look like they tried to recreate the concept art like Warlock showed. But now that this has come up, the Carrier does seem a lot less bulky compared to the Vanilla Carrier. Hmm, I hope they make a good decision.

Old one in my opinion...
This one does seem very empty, i had this on my mind for a while..
The new carrier disappoints me...

The old, huge, ship carrying look was awesome, it look fierce... :)

The carrier really needs to be improved, to something more menacing, and the way it's portraited in the lore!

Concept art:

Current design:

what i find funny is even in the concept art there is the new carrer disign, look to the right just below it...

and i quite like the new carrier, i just think the size needs to be bigger. i think if they just scale the carriers size up a bit bore it will look better

Im not a huge fan, but i dont mind it. I think they should take a look at the Gantrithor from the last SC cinematic.

But i think its interesting to have a slight model change since it would indicate Dark Templar craftsmanship instead of Pure Aiurian.

(i think this is similar to what someone else said).

I think the gold parts are fine, the blue parts are too simplistic. Darken it a little and this model should be fine.

I like the new design a lot. I think big and fat is very ugly for a race as advance and unique as the Protoss. Terrans can be left with the huge arrogant units (BattleCruisers), Protoss can fit their power beautifully and intricate. It could be made a little bit bigger, but for a war ship that doesn't have to carry pilots for every interceptor, I don't think its needs to be big and bulky.

PS. I actually thought it was hilarious for only 8 small interceptors to come out of the Gantrithor carrier in the fan-made hd starcraft video, it looked like it should have released hundreds.

Come on it is not the size it is how you micro it:). I think it looks a little to bulky at the moment.
