I agree with this.

The game/beta keeps getting delayed because...There are a lot of things wrong with the game. Think about it. We spend our time at the armory complaining about OP/UP/stupid units and mechanics. Obviously, SC2 is hardly a polished game at the moment. If they announced that the game was going to be released in say, January, people would be like "OH !@#$ YEAH!!!!.....But when you think about it, if the game were to be released early, all of our complaints about the game would probably still be in the game. SC2 would not be a good game if it was released in the near future.

The only thing that is wrong is BN 2.0. That really piss me off because they can release the beta test without BN 2.0 and, eventually, when this one is ready, release the "big" package.

But they don't. And why is that? Because they don't need money because of their milk-cow-WoW.

My heart sank when I read the headline. First the devs at Blizzard said that we should expect Beta during the summer this year and then at Blizzcon with the desk interview with Mike Morheim he said that the Beta SHOULD be released before 2009 ends. Now with this random Russian gaming expo IgroMir Chris Sigity said that we should expect the Beta in Q2 2010!? -.- Wow, just wow. I was really hoping to be entertained by people's Beta videos of Starcraft 2 on YouTube by this Christmas, but now I'm just sad.

You know what, don't expect Beta to be released by June 2010 at the LATEST. Expect the Starcraft 2 Beta by December 2010. Then expect Starcraft 2 to be released in June 2011. From now on, I am going to stop being optimistic with Blizzard's estimation dates because they broke the last straw with me with this latest announcement. I don't blame them, after all everyone at Blizzard must be under a lot of stress and pressure to get this game out to the masses with expectations being so high for Starcraft 2. I just hope that this game doesn't become vaporware, which would be the biggest disappointment to me and everyone else since we all want to play this game so bad.

I just read some the theories that Chris Sigity could have been talking about the Beta being released in Russia in Q2 2010 and NOT North America. Even though I'm clinging on to that faint bit of hope that the Beta will be released before the end of 2009 I'm prepared for another disappointment from Blizzard. So until December 31 passes us, all we can do is wait and see when Beta happens.

Meh, it's about when I expected it anyway.

I just prey that it will, eventually, be released.

Please, Blizzard, don't make all this into SC: Ghost all over again! O.O

Did I misread something? The post's rough translation seemed to suggest the game would be released late Q2 of 2010, not the beta. If true, in order for the game to be out by June 2010 (and I wouldn't hold my breath), I would think that would mean the beta would be kicking off the new year. I can live with that. Gets my exams out of the way.

No you didn't misread it. They say they are still on track to release the game by Q2, not the beta. People are just freaking out. We don't even know for sure they weren't referring specifically to the Russian beta, this whole article could have no bearing on NA beta.

But unfortunately, gearVosh admitted it in his first reply. Since he seems to work with Blizzard now (I'm still waiting for a confirmation or a proof), I guess he knows exactly what's happening inside the HQ.

besides that.. it was somehow expected SCII was going to be released in the second semester of 2010..
