This is only the signup thread, refer to here for the actual tournament thread and rules/match/format/misc info.

To signup, send donations to -- note that this isn't me -- the user
tournamententry with 400/400 min/gas with the message "Tournament Entry".
Please include race, timezone and skill level from 1-10. 1 being unable to beat the comp, 5 knowing BO's but unable to perform them well, 6+ knowing BO's and being able to use them effectively, 10 being the user Xel_Nagaist or Wizard. If you just found out that BO stands for Build Order, then you are probably lower than a 5. Also, by signing up you are agreeing to be active. Activity is defined by playing your scheduled 1-2 games per week and checking up on your team/tournament at least once every day.

I tried my best to balance teams. No guarantees though. Now that you know the teams, it's up to the Captains to form the hama network and tell their members(and me). Participants and Captains alike should try their best to contact their fellow team members via PM.

So, with the lack of activity in the season 3 armory ladder, I was thinking of organizing a team-based (noob friendly) SC tournament. However I don't know how many people would actually participate in it as the amount of BW players here is pretty low.

I for one think that it would be a fun thing to do, and I would encourage everybody, no matter how good or bad you are, to join up (the more the merrier), as this is a tournament solely made for fun/entertainment (also requires more people than your average tournament and remember, most people in the armory aren't good at SC, so most likely, you'll be able to play somebody just as bad as you!) and for those who want to watch the replays. Plus the ladder died out to a certain magical individual who just rolled all the opposition, and a team-based tournament would eliminate that to a degree. I also encourage betting on the outcomes of single matches/teams! =P

just remember, YOU HAVE TO SHOW UP PEOPLE, there are a lot of people that join tournaments, and they NEVER come again. They just join, and that's it, we never know of them ever again.

Why wouldn't i show up?

I can't really play until late December. Any kind of event and what not after that I'm in, but before then, I'm just way too busy. I would however enjoy watching the occasional replay and even placing bets on the outcome if we could get updates on when games are going to be played.

It's definitely a good idea and I would be willing to support it however I can.

Edit: I don't know how difficult this would be, but if when people scheduled their mathes they could post them somewhere so we would know when people would be playing, that would be nice.

He's not really trying to single you out, it's just past tournaments have died simply because people did not play and were no shows, i.e not active.

I have time for competetion and tournaments but I really can't manage to show up or participate. -_-

I'm interested in joining. I'm not a very good player, but that's what this is for. I play protoss. I don't have hamachi or iccup, but there are instructions for setup all over the forums, right?

A few questions:

-We're going for balanced, normal maps, right? As in no fastest/blizzard/bgh/nrmm0clut? Would we use any multiplayer proleague maps?

-Also, the date and times for games will be really important. I'm going into finals really soon, as the semester will be ending. Studying will have to take precedence over fun. (Did I honestly just say that?!)

I can get a hour or so here and there to play, but my schedule is kinda random with very little room for flexibility.

I hope that enough people want to participate in this. It sounds like fun. Though I won't be much of a contribution to my team, I think I could manage a match or two a week.

I primarily play as zerg but sometimes I mix it up by playing as terran. I suck with both.

I prefer playing on the Abyss(ICCup) but Hamachi is fine too.

How does everybody feel about this rule:

- You must include a player that did not play last week in your lineup

To give playing time for everybody(hopefully) and also allows teams to field their strongest players always. Haha, this is assuming that we happen to have excess players on teams... Probably not gonna happen, but might as well see what you guys think.

Yes, there are guides for ham/icc and yes, we will use SPL maps. I updated the OP for clarification and links.

You'll have a week to finish you matches, and since these are teams, you may or may not have to play every week depending on how big the teams are(haha assuming again that we'll have excess players).

We'll see. If we get enough players that I don't have to play every week, I could probably swing it. I just don't want to be one of those players that never shows cuz I'm busy.
