Hey guys I know this is probably running through a few of your minds. I can go on here, post something on a topic, go to the store, do a bunch of stuff, then 3 hours later I can come back and still be in the community latest. When I joined the community latest was like 2 seconds ago, 20 seconds ago, 1 minute ago, 2 minutes ago, 4 minutes ago. Now its more like 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 40 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours (I May be exaggerating). But still, has it slowed for a reason? And yes i do realize it's Christmas time but it was like this for a while now, a few weeks prior to be exact.

Sorry if you misinterpreted what I said, I'm not trying to bag on the site (as a matter of fact I love it, and the members) but it's just sad to see everything so... Slow.

Merry Christmas you guys have a great time!

Ya I see what you mean and your right it 'has' slowed down abit. It might be that some people are beginning to get sick of waiting for StarCraft 2 and are just reading for anything really new...but thats just what I think at least.

The SC2 fan community in general is suffering at the moment. The lack of information and the long wait from Blizzard means we have nothing to talk about anymore. Instead members are reduced to talking about lore (awesome), or talking about the games metagame (not awesome).

No one has played the game, and yet we speculate, theorycraft and throw statistics at each other. All this coupled with new members who join with little knowledge of the game at the moment, means that the site, and the community are suffering from a great deal of spam and useless repeated arguements. Meaning members are starting to go inactive, and using the site less and less, due to the sites repetetive nature at the moment and unappealing topics of discussion.

Once beta begins, and we have more information flowing to us, the site and the community will improve. It will mean new video's and stats for us to rip apart, as well as content for the new members to study and learn. Instead of the stalemate position we have at the moment.

EDIT:
Why is this in Serious Discussion?

Well, if Blizzard had released a new batch, or some interesting blue posts or even new Battle Report around these days, I am pretty sure that our armory forum could have been significantly stimulated. But for now we are running out of the stim packs... :((

I agree with on this the armory has slowed since I joined. THere used to be good topics, now its all repeats of previous stuff being put up by new members who can't be bothered reading the rules. I have found that even though I have been here only 2 months or so, that the quality of posts have decreased, there is more bickering and more new users who don't care about other people's opinions.

My personal thought on the reason for this decline in quality, is the simple fact that everything has been talked about now. THe only thing left is theory crafting, which inciteds arguements because everyone has their own ideas.

What we need are some more gameplay videos while we eagerly await beta.

Meh, this has actually happened a couple of times. The game has been in development for 6 years. Of course were running out of things to talk about.

This usually happens around the holiday season where we have no new information but the minute we get new info we tear at it like a bunch of starving hobos but yeah nothing really new on this site other than Fanfiction updates(which most of our members don't bother reading) and topics that get a strong negative reaction due to wordings.
Love me? How? They don't even know me! The idea of me they love...... isn't me.

In most topics, we make assumptions, generalizations, and comparisons that simply aren't credible without more knowledge of the game.

Nowadays the majority of created topics are (1) redirected to the "ask a simple question" thread because they are just asking...a simple question, (2) shot down because they have been discussed a thousand times and the creator obviously did no research on the topic, (3) contain information concerning scrapped units or abilities (again the creator did no research and has no knowledge of what they are talking about) ,or (4) are just completely stupid.

When I first joined the Armory, I had the privilege of lurking the UED thread for a while before finally jumping in the conversation. Their was high quality discussion and there was no flaming, spamming, or trolling in it. It was a great thread and it held my interest in the Armory by itself for a solid month. I was actually sad when the UED faction was finally completed.

I've also found Fan-Fics to usually be of high quality (assuming they don't die out), and lore has always held a high amount of interest for me. Until we either get beta or a truckload of new matches, Lore and Fan-Fics will continue to be the highest quality forums imo.

I was gonna go with off topic but this has to do with the site, so I figured serious discussion fits best into it. Sorry :3

Anyways, It seems that blizzard is waiting to surprise us with something big soon, but at this rate it's gonna be a while and when it comes out few people will be seeing it. Hell, I remember joining and seeing some people like Psi or Medavas everywhere (:D) but now even the most popular and funny members are ceasing to exist in even the most popular posts. I know there is a lack of info and I hate it too but I'm still keeping active, I've gotten like 40 posts this week =P. Soon as beta hits it will all be good again =). Lets just hope it isn't too late...

There is a lack of discussion because there is no new information about SC2. back about a year ago, there were new units being made, so members discussed how they can be changed and how to make it more balanced. members also were able to bring up unit ideas. Today, all the units are confirmed and there isn't much to discuss. We are all basically waiting for the Beta, which will never come D: so there is not much to talk about. no new news.

Most of the reasons have already been said. As one of the older members that still post regularly I have to say the there is just not many good topic to discuses. I just skip over many of them now a days(partly due to lack of time). I joined before Stebo was a staff member, and was just a crazy poster. I remember when Tear joined and I saw five of her topics in a line and thought "Who the Hell is this guy! good ideas but, slow down the topics". I remember Silent and Uberlisk just stating his fan-fics. I remember Illidan who is one of the most beloved members. Hopefully Beta will help with new good topics.

Everyone is sick of waiting for Starcraft 2 beta to come out, let alone the actual Starcraft 2 game!!!
Some more regular news from Blizzard would be nice. Otherwise this winter is really gonna drag on . . .
