Hydralisk should have 90 hp | Feb 8th, 08:18am | |

Should the hydralisk have 90 hp instead of the regular 80 hp to keep up with the shielded marine?

No. Marines have that upgrade to keep them from being completely obsolete. Hydralisks do not have that problem.

hydras are anti armored. They are most cost effective than marauders, and about the same as hellions.

What would the purpose be of giving the marine an hp upgrade if your going to give the Hydralisk basically the same thing? No, the hydralisk should not have 90 hp, their cost effective enough the way it is.

I agree with that statement plus they can be easily massed whenthe economy is good unlike ours right now. Ps. I need another job!

I hate to be one of "those" people, but detailed theorycraft such as these really need to wait till beta comes out.
Until people get some trigger time with the game and crunch some numbers, its very difficult to gauge if adding 5 health or 2 damage to units is needed or not. If the argument was like, "Hydras need to have their bonus damage against biologic- not armored, or their damage bonus needs to be against ugly people- not armored" well then ok. Its fair to speak on broader topics than it is on tiny details which are just moot. |

Hydarlisk are very powerful how they are right now. If they had more hp, the marine shield is going to be useless against the hydra. So I agree with most of you.

Having watched lots of vids of starcraft II, as many of you have too, i firmly believe the hydralisks are just fine the way they are, adding 10hp would make them a bit too tough for a 1st tier(or 2nd??) massable unit.

I think hyralisks should get the 10 hitpoint upgrade. They should also get miniguns, poison spikes, and underground movement. Hell while were at it give em a second evolution : D

No, they don't need that 10 hp because even tho marines have shield upgrade, their healer, Medivac is higher tier unit, than Medic from sc1 was. Without shield upgrade marines would be an easy prey in early game because there's no one to heal them.

I also gotta go with "no". The Hydralisk has already gotten several buffs from when it was first unveiled for SC2. It use to be 2 supply, cost more minerals and gas, and had a less useful bonus damage modifier, all while having the same attack and health it does now. Since then it's been buffed considerably.
Even compared to it's SC1 version, the current Hydra is slightly better. It's the same cost but it does 10 damage to everything and 4 more bonus to armored while the original did 10 dmg but it was reduced based on unit's sizes. The original also had less range un-upgraded than the base SC2 Hydra does. We all know how useful and massable the Hydra was in SC:BW so I can only imagine how great the buffed SC2 Hydra will be. Again, a resounding no. Just because Marines got an hp buff doesn't mean Hydra's need one too. |

Just something that I noticed, but according to player preference (on the right hand side of the page right below the username where it says what race you are), the Hamster and OP are the only Zerg that are not outright opossed to this. Mister Van Kessel did indeed agree to The_Field_Fox, but since miniguns are so passe, I decided not to include him.
Also, being a Terran, I am opposed to this, but, being a Terran, my opinion doesn't carry as much weight as, say, a Zerg player, or, say, a cement truck. Comma. Period. |
