Yeah, I've got a question partly for curiosity but mostly for my Kerrigan article. Does anyone know anything about a fully conquered and infested Zerg planet? They came from all the way in the center of the galaxy and have infested everything between there and Aiur. Are there any planets totally covered in creep, or any signs of planets that have been drained of every natural resource? The game guide tells you every planet every zerg unit originally came from, each of those plaents must have been totally assimulated, did they become massive Zerg hives which pump out huge amount of resources? Do they ever run out of resources on that planet? More importantly, does Kerrigan control all of them directly, or only the Zerg in her sector of the galaxy?

I beleive Char would most likely be a completely infested planet because it is the homw planet to the zerg, as for the other planets, they were mostly burned down except for likely resource areas which turned into zerg colonies.

I'd guess that the Zerg is the only Race (Including the Xel'Naga) that we have to little knowledge of. Take the protoss for example, they are similar to use humans, they use advanced cybernetic technology, they ethnic culture is similar to our 1500's medieval times (Knights, Lords, Fantasy wizards and spells).
The Zerg are an insect-related race, we know to little of them, so we can't assume anything of how they hold or use their natural resources. We have no attention either of how they can 'infest' a planet, and if its even possible to expand creep all around a sphere so big. The down side of the Zerg is that there are to many questions, yet to few answers about their lore. Overall Roland, I've never read such knowledge of your questions, but I'd be happy to do some research about the basic lore of the Zerg when I get the time. ^^ io |

So I guess as far as zerg infestation/assimilation, I think they move as a swarm center (Kerrigan), they assimilate, dry up the resources and move on, abandoning the planet completely. Remember in SC1 they zerg were scouting, while the main swarm was still waiting in space, then the overmind moved to auir, bringing the whole swarm with him. The only infested planet I can think of is Tarsonis.

Char as well, and i beleive that they took Auir, they also took over many other planets, but havent fully infested them yet, i think they were infested to harvest the resources.

That is only half true. Char is the main staging area for the Zerg forces after their arrival in the Koprulu sector, but it is NOT their homeworld. The planets suface is most likely largely infested though. |

What about all the Zerg on those planets though? Are they fully automated or are there other parts of the swarm in isolated sections of the galaxies, and if so does Kerrigan even know they exist? Could renegade cerebrates still exist out their? Don't forget an entire swarm could evolve from a single larva.

I believe that the entire Zerg swarm migrated to the Koprulu sector when the Overmind was still alive, and that there are no significant remaining Zerg forces scattered on the path they have taken since their exodus from Zerus.
I can't support this belief with fact though, so it might be horribly wrong. But according to me, past Zerg planets -including Zerus!- are now barren and devoid of life, while the current Zerg planets fall within Kerrigan's sphere of influence (unless there still are Cerebrates she hasn't killed off). Possible surviving Cerebrates, or Zerg colonies controlled by Queens and Overlords if such a thing is possible, wouldn't be very far away because the entire Swarm traveled to Koprulu and Aiur with the Overmind. |

I don't think the Zerg would ever have need to infest an entire planet- what would they gain from it? Resources I'm sure, but they could just as easily migrate from mineral outcrop to mineral outcrop and from vespene geyser to vespene geyser.
Seeing an entire planet covered in creep would be wicked awesome, but I don't think they would ever really need to spread out that far. I'm sure Char would be the closest they've ever gotten to doing so.
