Seriously, a Warcraft movie | Oct 16th 2008, 10:33am | |

I can't believe I din't run into this before, as it's from Blizzcon 07, but it seems really legit.
Source 1 Source 2 Source 3 Source 4 Source 5 Source 6 Artwork Putting 6 sources up to make it clear it's not just wild falseness, a couple of these aren't even gaming sites, they're nytimes and imdb. It's hard to believe it's been a whole year and I haven't come across this. Legendary pictures is making it, BTW, they're perfect for the job. |

Wow this is a big discovery. Although, during BlizzCon 08, Blizzard stated that they had no movie making going on at the moment but that they might consider it someday. I think I remember at one point the Blizzard Official refused to get into 'details' about a Warcraft movie.
But of course, everyone knows how much Blizzard loves to foreshadow and keep secrets, so this may be a true statement that Blizzard is planning for Warcraft movie. |

Yeah, Blizzard Entertainment and Legendary Pictures. My expectations are wayyy up high.
But like others; I wonder which part of the story they're gonna do. I hope for the old Orcs and Humans ^^ |

This has been well known since BlizzCon 2007. However, there has been no news about the movie since then other then that Uwe Boll`s offer to direct the film was (harshly) rejected by Blizzard.
As silent_templar said, it is set between the events in TFT and WoW. It will be an epic war film with the main character being the Alliance version of Thrall. It was also originally planned to be a remake of the events in Warcraft: Orcs and Humans (which I think they should have still done). It will be created by Legendary Pictures (300,Dark Knight). And that is about all we know. |

I was hoping back then that Blizzard would decide to make it cg since they are already good at making in game cinematics. While Legenday pictures undeniably produce good movies, still I would prefer the WC movie to be made by Blizzard itself. As I think Blizzard can really do it. All they have to do is make a cinematic that is about 2 hours long and presto! An awesome WC movie.
Now that word is out about live actors. I m a bit worried that the final product may not meet expectations and will not do justice to the franchise's reputation. Most movies primarily based on video games played by live actors turns out usually, (Oh whats that word?) Cheesey? Corny (imo)? Unsatisfying, over rated. Anyone knows who will direct the movie BtW? I hope it would be Peter Jackson. :) And would it be cool if a voice of Morgan Freeman be a narrator of some sort? :) I LOL ed at this "Following another fan suggestion, Metzen says they haven't yet contacted Chuck Norris for a role or cameo." from source 1
