I haven't written anything about Starcraft lore for a while, and I want to, so I narrowed it down to pretty much the whole debate about the Kerrigan vs. Zeratul fight or something about Mengsk, and the empire.

Don't underestimate the Kerrigan/Zeratul one, theres a lot more unanswered questions there then some people give it credit for, reaching all the way back to Duran and Kerrigan's relation.

The third option is the biggest I'd take not only every submitted question (even if it was about the other two topics). And even the smaller lore questions I get a lot. This may also include an ultra elaborate history of the starcraft history with all possible lore implications added in, en par with my Diablo article. The downside of this is it'd take real long to do.

Or if you have another idea, please let me know.

Hey Roland :D
I voted for the Mengsk/Empire option since I'm super into the Terrans and their background (how disjointed!). GL on the Article mate ^^

Looking forward to the Kerrigan and Zerutal. I'm a big follower of your work, Roland. ^^ oi

Best of luck. It will be worth the wait.

I voted for the "other" option. The reason for this is because I would like to see more people write about the soldiers or other small guys on the battlefield. A lot of Starcraft lore seems to focus around the big characters like Kerrigan, Zeratul, and Raynor, but there are millions of other people fighting in the war who are winning/losing the battles. I would rather read about a group of marines holding of a Zerg attack than some "epic" battle between Kerrigan and Zeratul.

That'd just turn into a fan-fic. There's not really anything that can be said about it, I'm just looking for stuff that correlates to the SC2 storyline.

hey roland, i totally love your theories and knowledge in the sc universe...i vote for kerrigan/zeratul

and yeah, don't listen to timmay, your story will look like a fan fic...and while there ARE a lot of heroes (unsung or not) in every war, we simply just can't cover them all, especially if all you did was fire three shots at an incoming zergling and die...besides, how can something be epic if you just pick an unremarkable warrior in the battlefield?

kerrigan, zeratul and other notable heroes were not just chosen randomly, it is because they are unique and their actions and very existence have DIRE implications in the sc lore. so there.

While I understand Timmay`s sentiments, I do not think they make for great material for a lore related article. That said, Timmay, I recommend you read Speed of Darkness by Tracy Hickman. It is a good novel (one of the best from the StarCraft franchise) and it`s story is written from the perspective of a regular Terran Marine (even though that Marine has a not very regular background).

In any case, I would like to hear more about the Zeratul vs. Kerrigan issue, since you seem to have some interesting theories about it. While Mengsk and the Empire are a interesting subject, the novel "I, Mengsk" probably reveals a lot about it. Also, I doubt a Q&A session would be of much interest since most of it would just be the repeat of information already available on StarCraft Wiki.

I voted for kerrigan vs zeratul. I believe that those two have the highest conflict level, as they both relate to the xel'naga. The humans are just people at the wrong place at the right time.

I actually voted "other" as I would like to see further Protoss elaboration in regards to what happened after BroodWar's 6th Campaign. How are they coping on their own? Has Artanis been able to reunite both High & Dark templar castes in his new Executor role? How could the SC1 units jump to an evolution to SC2 units lore-wise? Etc...

Along those lines :) ...

(and yes, Im also curious about the Zerg, but I do like Protoss and their lore very much as well ^_^)

Remember the Alamo?

Seriously though, sometimes a small group of seemingly ordinary people can have a huge role in history (or lore in fictional universes). When a small group of Texans fought an army from inside a church, that battle became a legendary event leading to Texas independence. It also resulted in one of the most famous battle cries. Small people can have a big impact.

and yeah, don't listen to timmay

You are an asshole. Roland wanted our opinions, and I gave mine. If you disagree with it, that's fine, but don't tell people to ignore it. My previous post was not unreasonable.

He got you there ST ^^ haha... I dont think ST is an asshole, but I do agree that Timmay was just giving his opinion and should not be underestimated (although I doubt that was ST's intention).

I voted for Kerrigan vs. Zeratul. I want to see how a fan can continue this story.

I give it until Saturday night, then I'll write the article. Go ahead and vote, or just talk about the lore, maybe I'll get some ideas...

Im completely ambivolent. If you can pull off the Kerrigan vs Zeratul article and make it both informative and interesting, then you have my respect forever.

Probably the Mengsk one is the best one to go with since the Kerrigan vs Zeratul would be mostly speculation.

Im awaiting your article eagerly. :)

Well if I'm not speculating, I'm just rehashing the lore anyone could find on a wiki, I'll probably use the same methods I did in the Diablo article, using art and cinematics and stuff.
