GameStar: Interview, unit information and model | May 10th 2009, 07:19pm | |
On the contrary I think Blizzard thinks too much. ;) But for some units they got it right, The Nullifier is indeed renamed the the Disruptor. IMHO its perfect for it role, Taking a look on its current abilities it doesn't nullify really, it disrupts. I m guessing that the reason they call it Raven is because its black, it flies and is a smart unit. Raven in mythology represents knowledge and wisdom. Odin has two Ravens with him representing Thought and Memory. They are believe to be very intelligent birds scientifically. The meaning of my real name also has raven on it. "Raven of the Sea". LOL -------------------------------------------------------------------- OK back to the new update About the Brood lord. Its awesome but there is still room for improvement. much better than a floating blob. It reminds me of my poop especially if its color brown. http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/starcraft/images/5/5e/SwarmGuardian_SC2_Game4.jpg Again IMHO I think the High templar should have its old abilities back. The protoss spells are mess up with the wrong units. I m not against the new ability, all I m saying is they keep giving it to the wrong units. Then there is the matter about the Phoenix and MS as well. HT should have Psi storm and Hallucination Disruptor should have force field and Plasma surge. Here is why, HT are biological and powerful psychics, it has been proven on SC1 that they can make hallucinations. While the Disruptor is a mechanical unit. Shield restoration is the shields battery's job. Its an ability that suits a machine. Also about the translation of names. http://www.sc2armory.com/forums/topic/6612/ Ever hear "lost in translation". Please state your opinion on the poll above.

Nice! Well, I still do miss the idea of the Thor being built on the ground by the SCV. That was such a cool idea, but I guess it was unfair so they are built out of Factories and are smaller and weaker now, but don't have that stupid slow turn radius they used to have.

For the holiday spirit of thanks giving they will call it "turkey of doom" then return it to "hell chicken". And for Christmas they will call it "Santa's little helper"(because of the "presents" that it can give to enemies) then back to hell chicken. But that's only the beginning, according to rumor again the unit will not be called with any of those names ingame once the Game is finally released. It will now be called "THAT UNIT THAT MUST NOT BE NAMED" ;) OK seriously I propose Hell Bat or Strike Ray (as in sting ray or manta ray) to be the new names. Bat or Ray because they fly, (for the ray, I know it glides smoothly underwater, but you get the point) and they both have unique way of detection given to them by mother nature. Hell or Strike, stands for its abilities,HELL because it can unleash fiery hell to its enemies or STRIKE because it can deliver a punch even for a support unit.

What was wrong with the original name of Nomad? I think it fits the Terran race very well; wandering, mobile, almost tribal with their factions.

This looks a lot like the drone. I liked their swarm guardian model a little more. It would have been better if they had just polished that.
Hey look
I've got a signature, I'm creative!! |

I think they should use the old brood lord model for a different unit. it just looked so zergy. Ditching the repair thor a ability sounds like sense but having an automated repair system did sound cool you have to admit.

Wait, was the swarm guardian the original name for what is now called the brood lord?
P.S. anyone have an animated marauder picture? the portrait one. |

What does Broodlord do? Looks like a cross breed of a drone and B2 bomber... (or SR-71)
I wish there was a full list of zerg units somewhere =(... the official website only shows like 3... [not sure which ones because the website doesn't open anymore for some reason...] =/ I personally don't like thor @ the moment... Maybe once I find the right use for it I will change my mind... As far as weather and daytime change - I think it's a good idea! Whether it affects gameplay or not. [Snow would slow down ground units making people rely on air more... aka can't mass hydras/goons/tanks... gotta mix it up a lil more... Rain would make air units pretty useless slowing the big fat units more e.g. tanks, thors, colossus, etc.] But if Blizzard doesn't want to take too much time to rethink all that they can add those effects just cuz it would look cool... in the morning it's kind of bright gettin a lot brighter during the day and becoming pretty dark @ night... or making it "pitch black at night!" [having to play with "flashlights" probably would be fun too... I mean if this was real life... wouldn't there be surprise attacks in the middle of the night?! xD Players would need to make sure they have proper detection so the opponent doesn't slip through unnoticed in the dark.] idk... just something i thought bout right now.. |
