A new addition in Starcraft 2 are the range circles (or radius), these circles are a graphical outline of how for your range is for the selected unit (Currently used by Siege Mode and Sensor/Radar Towers). The range circle is great for making sure everyone has a good feel of a unit's power as far as range and allows them to be placed knowing that its range does reach certain areas. However, the counter argument is that takes away skill and allows noobs to use it wisely. So should there be a range identifier?

The only range circle I can remember are the siege tanks and sensor towers. I dont think it removes skill, you would still place the tanks in the same spots.

Its a giant radius circle around your tower, showing how far its detection reaches... basically its a graphical presentation of a units range.

This has also been added to the collection, so go vote!

No, it's not needed and doesn't add anything. Part of every game is getting used to the unit. This line of thinking leads to other, more damaging ideas. It's just not a good idea.

Range identifier is a good idea. Probably viewable on a selected unit, if Alt Key is pressed, to avoid clutter.

Used with some key or mentioned alt combination it could turn nice but would also make crucial moments in battles more obvious and where is fun in that. There would be no mistakes if it's always on etc..

I agree with Topace: it's something that would detract from the whole SC theme. Getting used to units/ranges was part of the fun, especially with detectors vs. dark templar :D

When I was playing small maps 64x64 or so, I had the feeling that the siege tank had more range. It was just a mere illusion.

I don't like it but it's a matter of usage. It would be the same as removing the blue area near a pylon xD.
If it hadn't been there in the first place, people would have had to learn by trial and failure. Sometimes even with the blue area
a building won't be in full energy range.

I'll vote NO to the range circle, but won't get mad if it's in the game.
