Put in salamander for the time being. It sounds better than trident.
the battle edifice is where you'd find the researches relating to vehicles, like the talon's fold out guns and an upgrade that increases the rate of fire of the hellbore. it would be like the machine shop basically.

turn out well? holy crap dude, that turned out freaking amazing!!!! omg! that is so cool, my jaw literally hit the floor. you are one helluva tech tree maker man.

as far as mistakes made, i'll list em out:
your overall tech tree is very reminiscent of the terran tech tree. in creating the vox we wanted to use a tech tree that hasn't been used, ie we didn't wanna follow the same building pattern as other races and come up with that's unique. cuz i think that to compete with the other 3 canon races, the vox must be up to par in all fields. so here goes:
1. zero tier: well done.
2. first tier: well done again. the bastion also produces a building called the obsidian conduit. it acts very much like the obelisk but instead of like aiding in macro and stuff, it is an offensive structure. we have not gotten to actually mapping out what it does, but it does exist all the same.
3. second tier: the bastion also techs to the obsidian enclave to produce the vanguards. from the obsidian enclave, you are then able to build the circle of fire and planar sanctum (both are technically tier level 2.5, though the salamander is unlocked at the circle of fire, its a tech tree building for it requires the astral relay to produce)
4. third tier: well done except for the aforementioned planar sanctum.
5. fourth tier: the sacred sanctum is actually teched by building the battle edifice first. the reason being, so you can build titans without having to build the astral relay which builds the space ships. and seeing that how the monolith is so powerful, we don't want people to get a free pass and go straight to building ships in order to unlock it. we want them to build the vehicle structure (assembler), tech to battle edifice and then only you can build the monolith (because each monolith carries a nuke weapon that must be built like the nuclear missile, and we don't want it to be available right quick).

i can see now why you asked about what color the faction is cuz you wanted to color it into the tech tree. well the color of the logo is actually the color we have in mind. i hope, no, i pray, that you will make a new tech tree with the suggestions listed. it is freaking awesome. once again, great work tears of the moon. great work!

Lem me explain first the current one :
As for the tech tree, i made it according to the other sc2 races tech trees, all of the 3 tech trees have in common that only one buidings unlocks the next tier, and there is no building that requires 2 buildings, each buiding is only unlocked by one. So if you would put that each buidings has a different buiding that unlocks it, that wouldn't make sense,and wouldn't fit into sc2, but an upgrade is still viable.
Look at the sc" races tech trees here on the armory, there is only one building per tier, that unlocks other buidings. Basiclly i simplified your tech tree, so it matches the other ones, but in the process some of the lore was lost ;)

here's the thing. if you look at our old tech tree, the adjustments you can make to that is...
1. obsidian conduit teched from bastion, not obsidian enclave.
2. obsidian enclave does not tech the battle edifice anymore.
3. the one marked ? is the sacred sanctum which is teched from the battle edifice.
does that answer your questions or are there some things i missed that need clearing?

Glad you like it :), i actually thought about changing the colors, but i see there was no need,you are more tha capable of doing that yourself.
And don't forget to balance the race, so it is fair fight against the UED ;P
(ps. i don't like to be constantly called dude ;p)

hahaha. no problem, dude... haahhaha. (i swear that's the last time, just one for the road).
yeah, i'd love to see your line up of the UED so defxon and me can balance out our vox to go head to head against you guys. we might make some future changes when the game comes out just to make sure the balance is kept.
ps - when can i see a master post of all the UED buildings and units? i'm almost as anxious to see that as i am to hear about the beta release...

RANDOM IDEA TIME!!!


How about the Vox have a unit that is just a vox holding onto like 100 different spikes, all pointing outwards. It has an ability that forces all units to attack it and make itself invincible for 1 second. Its attack is an aoe that starts on itself that hits all units - underground, cloaked, flying, Massive, whatever. It attacks by shooting out all the spikes at the same time.

It could be called the "Valiant" or something.

Heres another one! Made at the basic structure, this dude is just a vox levitating a sheild, a mace, and a spike. It shoots enemies until they get close to it and then attacks them. Each attack has a 33% chance to be a high damage attack (mace), a 33% chance to be an attack that makes the next enemy attack do no damage(sheild), and a 33% to be an attack that does +5 damage to armoured units(spike).

"Militia" maybe?

MECHANICS IDEA!

WHat if the main structure makes a Vox - a unit that has 1 life, slow move speed, and no LoS. This unit has a "Encarpace" ability that is similar to the build command - it makes a drop down menu for all units. When a unit is selected, the Vox walks over to the structure that makes the unit and starts to use the resources piled into the structure to make a carpace.

Maybe after every 20 uses it must be replenished before being able to be used again?

The shooting spikes is definitely a cool idea and I will definitely bring it up with defxon when he returns from his vacation, but unfortunately we can't implement the every enemy attacks the spiked unit part because the monolith unit has a similar ability which forces all enemies to attack it. but the spikes will most definitely make an appearance.
the mace attached to a long chain and a shield sounds like a good weapon to give the vanguard so it has a reach. can't implement percentages because that is a warcraft mechanic and not a starcraft one. in the interest of sticking to the tenets of the game, we can't implement chance based abilities.
as for the game mechanics: the carapace idea does sound cool. you could expand a little so i can get a clearer view before i decide whether to change or keep the current mechanic.

:D I has a very large happy that is manifesting...physically...

I was thinking that the Pinnacle could make a "Vox". THe Vox, as I explained before, has 1 life, a slow move speed, and no LoS. He must stay in your base. In order to become a combat or other unit, the Vox must move over to a unit production facility that trains the unit that the Vox wishes to become. Lets say that the Vox wants to be... say, a vanguard. He must go to the Bastion and select the unit he wants to be in a drop down window similar to the build commands and select the "Vanguard." When selected, the Vox walks over to the Bastion and begins to use the resources laid out to make a carapace. Only 1 unit at a time can be encarapacing at a unit production building at a time. This would lead to epic unit production animations with a spark floating in the middle and bits of matter flying up to encarapace it.

Is that a better explaination? Im a good idea dude but i kind of suck at explaining stuff...

Your idea is exactly the same as what we have planned. Only difference is the exarch will be the one who spawns the vox in the same manner as you described. the reason we didn't want vox with 1hp moving about is because it would be very similar to the zerg larva and we want to distance ourselves as far as possible from the other 3 races. btw, the exarch has a bunch of "swirling" "voxlings" on its back and when it comes time to create a new unit, the exarch will drop one of them off and then proceed to turn it into said unit.
